  • Your First Visit

At your checkup, you will receive a thorough cleaning and an oral exam by the dentist. During the oral exam, the dentist checks the health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue. At each visit, the dentist also checks old fillings and restorations because constant pressure from chewing, grinding, or clenching can cause them to wear away, chip, or crack. Dr. B or one of his team members will use our state of the art intraoral camera to take snap shots of any dental concerns that are evident. It makes it much easy to understand the urgency when you see a picture.

  • How Often Do I Need To See A Dentist?

Most patients need a cleaning and evaluation every 6 months. Low radiation x rays are usually taken once a year unless otherwise indicated. It is very important to see Dr. Benton and his hygienist routinely. By seeing Dr. Benton and staff at least twice a year, they can:

    • check for problems that you might not see or feel
    •  find early signs of decay
    •  treat oral health problems early, while they are still manageable.
    • Decrease your chance of heart disease, strokes, diabetes and other detrimental common diseases.
